At Com’On Dress we love to collaborate with original Young Creators in order to sublimate all morphologies. Moreover “how to be original”, the use of Maracadabou’s squares is one of the ways to appropriate your outfit and of course to stand out! With these few questions, designer Émilie allows us to learn more about her universe.
Where does the name of your brand come from?
Maracadabou is a mixture between “Abracadabra” for the whimsical side and “Marabout” for ethnic influences.
Since when have you been attracted to fashion/creation?
From a very young age, I have always loved to compose my own outfits. I spend a lot of time in thrift stores finding everything and everything. I started drawing very early and I started my artistic career in the second grade. During an exhibition on Christian Lacroix in high school, I fell in love with his fashion sketches and the accumulation of patterns he puts forward. I started to take an interest in fashion and different textile materials in order to integrate my illustrations.
Since when does your brand exist?
Maracadabou has been launched since September 2016 but it is only beginning to develop,
What is the philosophy of Maracadabou?
Full of Pep’s!!! It’s very colourful and each scarf is designed to tell its own story. In my drawings, I very often draw inspiration from ethnic and oriental cultures (which are references in terms of motifs) always adding my Pop touch, very seventies. The materials I use are fine and silky to better fit the scarf around the neck or as an accessory.
Describe in 3 words the style of your brand:
What are your future plans?
umm… ^^ still more creation, drawing and color ^^!!
How do you see the evolution of your brand in the future?
Develop points of sale in France and abroad and work with a team to create even more.

I am mainly inspired by oriental fabrics and the creations of great fashion designers like Manish Arora. I also really like the world of ToiletPaper magazine, which is quite provocative and very Pop.
What are your favorite mode icons?
I don’t have any.
Who are your 3 favorite creators?
Manish Arora, Manoush and Hermès
What are your favorite fashion bloggers on Instagram?
I don’t know much about it yet….
What do you think is the essential clothing and accessory to have in your wardrobe?
A black dress or black outfit and the scarf of course;)
